Legend-ICT is the trading name of independent consultant, Mike Freedman, based in Epsom, Surrey.

Until Summer 2005, I was a primary classroom teacher. My full-time teaching career spanned 33 years, most of them in middle and primary schools.

I have been involved in ICT in education for more than 20 years. From 2001 to 2005, I was ICT Subject Manager at Poplar Primary School, and before that, ICT Co-ordinator at Bushey Middle School, both in the London Borough of Merton.

I was a member of the mentoring team on Becta’s New2computers project which, between 2002 and 2006, provided on-line ICT support and training to teachers in England. As part of my role with New2computers I facilitated an activity-based learning community called Newts.

I also look after the resources, links and photo collections for the ICTeachers website.

Since leaving full-time teaching and becoming Legend-ICT I have also been working part time, both as a supply teacher, and as a university tutor for trainee teachers on school experience (what used to be called teaching practice).

My qualifications include M.Ed (Computers in Education) and Diploma in Professional Studies in Education (Computers in Education).

In my spare time I walk, garden, take photographs and call barn dances. You can see some of my photographs on Flickr at www.flickr.com/photos/mikelegend and even buy some of them at http://mikelegend.redbubble.com .
